Procedures > Body > Tattoo Removal

Indications
In addition to facial skin resurfacing today's Lasers are capable of treating a variety of skin problems including some vascular skin lesions, sun spots, spider veins of the face, and amateur as well as professional tattoos.

Where Does the Surgery Take Place?
Laser tattoo removal is done by Dr. Corbett in the office.

Anesthesia
Local anesthesia is not mandatory but it sure seems to be a popular choice for our patients. Simply stated, it hurts. Let us numb the area. It is free and makes it a much nicer experience.

Surgery Time
Treatments usually last less than 15 minutes.

Recovery
You should experience no interruption in your normal routine. With more intense laser treatments it is not unusual to see some crusting and scabbing of the skin. This typically resolves is 5 to 7 days.

Follow-Up
A series of Laser treatments will be necessary. Some very general guidelines are  2 to 3 treatments for amateur tattoos and 6 to 12 for professional tattoos. Some professional tattoos can take 10 to 12 treatments to completely remove. It is impossible for anyone to predict an exact number of treatments needed for any one tattoo.

Complications

Complications with this procedure are very, very rare. We have used this laser for over 8 years now and the complication rate is far less than 1%. That being said, complications can occur and will be discussed before your treatment series begins.

Fees
The cost is $300 session.
