Laser Use and the Law
In Kentucky, the use of a laser or IPL machine is considered the practice of Medicine. Anyone using a laser must be a Physician or there must be a Physician on site and immediately available. Indications
In addition to facial skin resurfacing today's Lasers are capable of treating a variety of skin problems including some vascular skin lesions, sun spots, spider veins of the face, and amateur as well as professional tattoos.

Where Does the Surgery Take Place?
These procedures are safely performed in an office setting.

Anesthesia
No anesthesia is needed.

Surgery Time
Treatments usually last less than 15 minutes.

Recovery
Most patients experience no significant interruption in their normal routine.

Follow-Up
For most typical facial spider veins one treatment is all that is needed. Occasionally a second treatment is necessary. For those patients with true Rosacea a series of treatments will be required.

Complications
As with any surgical procedure, complications, though rare, can occur and are best discussed at the time of your consultation. We feel it is essential that patients be aware of potential complications before undergoing this or any surgical procedure.

Fees
The cost is $300 per treatment session.

Case 1.

These photos are close-ups of the left side of a patient's nose who had several spider veins. The treatment was done in the office and took less than 10 minutes. No anesthesia was needed and other than the mild redness seen in the last photo, she had no recovery.
