What's New at Corbett Cosmetic Surgery?


Juvederm®

Juvederm, Juvederm Plus and Juvederm Ultra Plus are some the newest wrinkle fillers available on the market today. It is becoming extremely popular lasting as long as 12 to 18 months. Areas amenable to treatment include the cheek-lip crease, wrinkles around the mouth, and the lips. The treatment is done in the office and there is no downtime or recovery. A dental block is often necessary for your comfort. Dr. Corbett has used it since its approval by the FDA and he and his patients have been very pleased with the results.

Perlane®

Perlane is the newest filler in the Restylane line of hyaluronic acid fillers. Comparable to Juvederm Ultra Plus it is intended for deeper folds and wrinkles. The duration is expected to be a year or longer. Perlane is administered as an office procedure with no downtime.

The On-Q Pain Pump®

The On-Q pain pump is a new pain control system for breast and tummy tuck surgery. One or two tiny catheters are placed through the skin, like an IV, and they drip numbing medicine into the surgical site. The patient response has been overwhelmingly positive! Many tummy tuck patients are experiencing little or no pain while at rest, which is a huge difference from the experience of those without the pain pump. The catheters are removed on the third post operative day and can be removed by the patient or a family member.




BOTOX® and Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for the condition where one sweats excessively in the armpits or palms. BOTOX® injections have been used in both areas and result in a dramatic improvement. Treatment of the underarms is an office procedure that takes about 15 minutes. Local anesthesia is used to numb the skin and then a series of BOTOX® Injections are administered.

There is no downtime or recovery for this procedure. The BOTOX® takes effect in 1 to 2 weeks and lasts for 4 to 6 months. In some instances, if the condition is chronic and has not responded to other treatments, your health insurance may cover the procedure.
