BOTOX® and Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for the condition where one sweats excessively in the armpits or palms. BOTOX® injections have been used in both areas and result in a dramatic improvement. Treatment of the underarms is an office procedure Dr. Corbett performs that takes about 15 minutes. Local anesthesia is used to numb the skin and then a series of BOTOX® Injections are administered.

There is no downtime or recovery for this procedure. The BOTOX® injection takes effect in 1 to 2 weeks and lasts for 4 to 6 months. In some instances, if the condition is chronic and has not responded to other treatments, your health insurance may cover the procedure.
